My Story

REDUCED ADOPTION FEE FOR ADULT CATS UPDATE 9/18: Ursula did very well at her first off site adoption at Petco in Morgantown. The car ride made her quite nervous, however. Sadly, Ursula's car rides have been to the pound, to foster care, to the vet, and to other strange places like Petco. Ursula is a lovely, gentle girl who really needs a predictable environment. We will be working with her to improve her feelings about car rides. We also encourage potential adopters to visit her in her own environment where she loves to play with other cats/kittens, chase toys, and perch on cat trees. Please consider this young girl. UPDATE 9/15: Ursula does very well with other gentle cats/kittens. Still, we always recommend a slow introduction. Ursula likes to play with Polly and Meliz, so she still gravitates toward playing with kittens. She herself is just an older kitten at about 9 months. Please consider this lovely girl. UPDATE 9/3: Ursula has been spayed and will be ready for a forever home very soon. URSULA is a wonderful older kitten, approx. 8 months as of 8/30/09. She was adopted as a kitten and returned because the child in the home was not ready for a pet. Ursula is wonderful with adults and we expect she would be fine with children 5 to 8 years old and up who understand about gentle handling. Ursula loves to have us hold her and pet her. Her coat is shorter on her body and she has a big, bushy tail, which is somewhat unusual. She seems to "chirp" when she wants attention. Ursula, our "She Bear," needs a second chance at a loving family. Please don't pass her by. We are offering our young adults and older at reduced adoption fees until further notice---not because the adults have less vet care or because they are any less "valuable." But, we know they are often overlooked when in a sea of fluffy kittens. But, please remember a one year old cat may have 19 more years and certainly does have a lot of kitten left! Please call Rachel or Frank at 304-379-2509 or e-mail [email protected] Friends of the Four-Legged and Furry rescues primarily from Preston County Animal Shelter and occasionally from desperate situations in the public. Adoptions and meetings may be arranged by appointment and hours are flexible. Adoption Events are nearly every weekend, usually Sundays, at Petco in Morgantown, WV from 12-5.
