My Story

Male, DSH, approx 12 years old Looking for an outgoing, well-dressed gentleman to join your family? Enter Tux. Tux is a friendly 12-13 year old cat with a young heart and years left. He loves to be where his people are, and will help you host guests by greeting them and sitting anywhere near his adoring fans. Tux is very calm and loves to get pets and attention, but he won't beg for it -- he'd rather be next to you and enjoy a chill evening together. Tux is also independent, and adjusts well to new situations. He'd likely be best living the apartment life as his curiosity can sometimes get the best of him (can we say door dasher?!). Regardless, he's lived in various environments and always settles in nicely as long as his people are near him. Tux is looking for an adopter to watch new seasons of Bridgerton with who can give him love and stability at this stage of his life. Consider adding this ham to your family! Melinda Lim sponsored Tux in honor of her cat Fizzy's adoptaversary from CDCK. Thank you for saving a life Melinda! ______________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-a-city-kitty.html City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a negative mother in foster care. Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
