Name: Torani Age: About 5 years Breed: Dilute Tortoiseshell Reason for being at the shelter: Owner passed away Description: Torani is a kitty who doesn’t mind asking or expecting other kitties to be her pillow or bed companion. She just piles on top of them or snuggles in with them for protection from the outside world. That’s because Torani is very shy and timid and quite fearful. And it’s great that a couple of kitties, currently Ted and Daphne, welcome her into their bed and don’t mind her company. She probably reminds them of one of their old housemates that recently got adopted. What a nice partnership. Torani came from a household of other cats and was living in the garage. She was picked up by animal control after her owner’s death. Obviously she is friendly with kitties but she is less friendly toward people. She is apprehensive about human touch so she requires a slow and gentle approach. We hope to see her relax over time. Torani would do well to be adopted into a home with other kitties and ones that are friendly and accepting toward her. She may remain reclusive and independent. Yet, some of the easiest care kitties are the undemanding and independent-minded ones. But an adopter who spends time with her may be able to turn her around.
