Tommy Tom-Tom

Tommy Tom-Tom is a quiet, shy older gentleman and we recently found out that he was abandoned by owners TWO YEARS AGO. News through the neighborhood grapevine indicates that he was probably an indoor/outdoor cat and we actually received this photo of him sitting outside his house. We believe that he travels through the woods to and from his home and to the person feeding him. His feeder has a shed with a straw feral cat house for Tommy to get out of the weather. During the recent snow fall in Belvidere, NJ Tommy was burrowing his face into the bowl of dry food that was left for him. This poor older gentleman was covered in snow with snow falling all around him. We can't see if Tommy is neutered as he always has his tail down in a sad, pathetic way. He also seems to be a bit deaf and frequently comes around with scratches. We think that maybe some of the younger tom cats are fighting with him. We have been tempting Tommy with food near a safe-trap. So far we have been unsuccessful and that makes us believe that he is being fed elsewhere. We will continue to try to save this old man and get him vetted, and we hope that there is a kind soul that will accept him and let him enjoy the comforts of a warm and safe home. We believe he would settle in and become a couch potato. Any donations towards Tommy's vet bills will be appreciated, but we will get Tommy to the vet, hopefully soon, because we really fear for his safety and survival. It is not fair for an elderly cat to be left behind and struggle to survive because his humans were heartless.
