Be prepared to be dazzled - this boy is a little doll! But, not for everyone. He does indeed sparkle and shine now, but needs the right home to glow.
Toby has quite a history; 1 1/2 years old now, he was found as a feral kitten at 2 months of age. He was placed into a foster home but did not get sufficient socialization, and stayed shy. He was released to live in a shelter, and spent his days under tables and chairs, watching... always watching. Some of the shelter workers engaged him in play, using a laser light - he LOVES to play! But because the shelter was overcrowded, I was asked to find him a barn home - they figured he was too shy to be adoptable. In March, I did place him in an indoor/outdoor home situation; it seemed perfect, he went with 2 other shy cats, and they adapted. But the other cats were wilder, and avoided the humans. Toby was different - he was curious, and kept coming nearer. After a few months, he was being petted - and staying inside more than out. Unfortunately, the other cats disappeared, and now the family is moving and do not want to take Toby with them. Once again he is back in limbo, but this time he has learned that hands can mean petting, and people mean treats and toys. He rolls and purrs and loves being petted, but he is still a bit spooky. He will take some special attention to fully make the transition, but he is so darn cute who would mind??? Though, because if he is scared he might nip, I would not recommend he go to a home with little children.
Since he still needs that extra attention, I will not charge an adoption fee for this handsome guy - he has been neutered, vaccinated (FVRCP, Leukemia, and Rabies), tested negative for leukemia and FIV, treated for fleas and worms - and he is ready to go! Contact Nancy at
