My Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens** Teddy Bear, Emmy Lou, Baby Frank and Nosey Parker, along with 8 other cats, were found wandering the wilds of rural eastern Ontario. Our sister rescue For Love of Ferals was able to corral them all and placed them in foster homes in preparation for finding their forever families. Teddy Bear is perfectly named, as this dreamy orange boy is the sweetest, most huggable softie! Teddy has a generally easygoing and peaceful disposition, interspersed with energetic bouts of zoomies and mischievous scaling of the tallest curtains! He is extremely affectionate and loves to be petted and cuddled. A person cannot go by without him needing to say hello and getting a few good pets in, and laps are perfect nests just made for him to curl up and purr in happiness. He is comfortable with children and other pets in the foster home and is unbothered by the hustle and bustle of the busy household. He adores his siblings and follows them around to play, and can always be found in the midst of the sleepy cuddle puddle! If you’re looking for a little dude that will melt your heart and live up to his name, Teddy Bear is the boy for you! He is the “every cat” of his group! Everyone loves playing with him, snuggling with him, and he even melts the hearts of the older foster cats! Gets along with everyone and loves to snuggle, what more could you ask for? Would you like to make Teddy Bear and maybe sister Emmy Lou too, a part of your world? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form. Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping. Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator. All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
