My Story

Breed - Domestic Shorthair Neutered Male Weight - 9.5 pounds Estimated Age - 1 year old If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email [email protected]. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: After completing the adoption questionnaire you can meet this cat in a foster home. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, [email protected] ADOPTION FEE: $320 for the pair. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Good with other cats who like to play. He is bonded with his BFF Quickie. DOGS: He isn't afraid of dogs and will stand up to them. He has not lived with a dog though. KIDS: Likely good with respectful older kids. He plays a little rough for small kids. KNOWN LIKES: Tarua loves to play and really enjoys Churu. KNOWN DISLIKES: Traveling ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: When kittens are born on the streets of Thailand they have little chance of surviving. We will never know what Tarua experienced in the first several months of his life until he was found, abandoned and alone, near a Development Center on Phuket Island. The kind person that discovered him, lethargic and in distress, alerted Soi Dog Foundation to his situation as they realized he desperately needed help and a safe place in the world. A rescue team collected the little kitten and brought him to the shelter. Tarua was in a shelter for seven months and is a playful, friendly, active boy who loves to play. He captures the hearts of everyone he meets and will be a great addition to a lucky family. Tarua flew to the US and is excited to make that family a reality! We're still getting to know him but he loves chasing his toys around, getting the zoomies, and playing with other cats. He can get a little overstimulated when he's playing, so a home without small children who might not understand when to give him space would be best. He loves to carry around his favorite toys and loves wrestling with his best friend, Quickie. They met after they both arrived from Thailand and fell in love. They cuddle together and wrestle. They must be adopted together. HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Union Veterinary Clinic, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.
