My Story

Stripey Male DOB: 1/1/24 MRQ# U6-24-2 Stripey (1/1/24) is a gentle soul with a curious nature and an observant eye. Though shy and timid at first, he is full of love and affection once he feels safe. Stripey’s journey to feeling at home may start with him hiding in a cozy corner, but with patience and time, he will emerge from his shell—especially with the help of his confident bonded brother, Sharpie. Stripey loves to explore his surroundings quietly. He may hiss if cornered or scared, but don’t worry—Stripey wouldn’t hurt a fly. Stripey may not eat much on his first days in a new home: monitor his food intake and ensure Sharpie doesn’t eat his portion. Stripey is not too keen on being pet at first, but when he hears Sharpie purring during petting sessions, Stripey’s curiosity gets the better of him, and he’ll come over to investigate and request pets for himself. He loves to be pet behind the ears and under the chin. Approach him from below or at the same level, aiming for his chin or his side rather than the top of his head to make him feel more comfortable. Once he warms up to you, he’ll even make biscuits while you pet him! Stripey also adores his fluffy mouse toy, which we will give to you once you adopt them! It's his go-to for fun and comfort. Both him and his brother love window-watching and chasing each other around the house. Additionally, as a quick litter box tip, Stripey sometimes stands while peeing, so a hatched litter box or another type with a cover is recommended to keep things tidy. Lastly, and most importantly, Stripey is bonded with his brother, Sharpie, and loves his brother so much. They clean each other, play together, and sometimes even sleep together. Their bond is unbreakable, and they must be adopted together. About Both Cats: Well-Mannered: They know not to jump on things when instructed. A spray bottle should be a last resort, but it’s effective. Litter Box: Both are litter box trained. Clean it twice a day to ensure Stripey doesn’t have trouble using it. Unscented litter is preferred. Crate Trained: Both cats are comfortable being crated. Minimal Shedding: They shed very little, making them a great fit for a tidy home. Feeding Schedule: They are fed four times a day and may need time to adjust to a new schedule. Sometimes one cat might finish the other’s food, so it’s important to monitor their meals. Backstory: Sharpie and Stripey were rescued from a neighbor’s roof after a threat to call animal control. In the two months they've been with us, they've blossomed into affectionate and well-behaved cats. They are semi-light sleepers and most receptive to pets after just waking up. Sharpie and Stripey are more than ready to find their forever home. If you’re looking for a pair of loving, playful, and well-adjusted cats, these brothers are the perfect match. Adopt them today and experience double the love and fun!
