May 1st - Smudge was found scavenging for food in a burned out house by the restoration crew on April 24th. As you can see he was in pretty bad shape, emaciated, soot covered, and full of matts and burrs. We took him up to our vet where he tested negative for FIV/FeLeuk. After a few days of aggressive medical intervention, some tender loving care, lots of nutritious food, a bath, and a lion's cut shave, Smudge is now resting comfortably in his foster home. The staff fell in love with him, he was so loving, and purred constantly even when they were prodding him and sticking needles in to him. He was also neutered , dewormed, flea treated and given his needles including rabies while he was up there. He was also microchipped - adoption fee of $150 applies. He looks rather odd without his fur, but he will have a lovely coat once it grows back in.
