My Story

Submit your application here: www.passportanimalrescue.org/app Simon is one lucky boy! He was rescued off the street with a giant gash in his neck. Whether he did it to himself or another boy kitty did it, we don't know. His neck was fixed, and he was neutered. During this process, it was uncovered that Simon is positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and FELV (feline leukemia virus). Both of these viruses mean he needs to stay inside now and receive regular vet visits. So far he's healthy and showing no signs of illness but his very special adopter should understand that he may not live as long as other kitties. In addition, he suffers from allergies. He takes a zyrtec daily (crushed up on his food). He loves to eat so this is no problem. And generic zyrtec is cheap. He gets along ok with other kitties in his foster home, except when someone tries to take his food so he should absolutely brought into a home with a controlled feeding regimen. All of our adoptable pets have their age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, feline leukemia and fiv test, spay or neuter surgery and a microchip. We have no public facility, but operate with a network of dedicated foster parents and volunteers. To respect the privacy of our foster parents we do require an approved application to visit any of our fostered animals.
