My Story

Serendipity is approximately eight years old (estimate by vet). She is a black & white bi-color Cornish Rex. Serendipity is spayed, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped and has been wormed, vaccinated, and flea treated. Serendipity was rescued from an area kill shelter - her owner died and the family decided NOT to care for the cats! She is a very sweet girl! She has the personality typical to the Cornish Rex breed - very outgoing, very demanding, very affectionate, very loving, and very active.

Serendipity is marked "special needs" because she has a heart murmur. She has no signs or symptoms of illness - but her adopter needs to aware of this issue and be prepared to provide the necessary veterinary care, if needed.

Adoption donation - $100 (reduced due to special needs).

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a not-for-profit organization who is committed to helping Persians, Himalayans, exotic shorthairs, and ragdolls. All of our expenses are funded by personal and private donations. All of our cats are kept in foster homes - please note, we do not have a shelter facility, so appointments must be made prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application by email.

Adoption Fees: Our adoption donation for persian, himalayan, exotic shorthair, ragdoll and Maine Coon breeds are as follows: for an adult cat is $150, a kitten is $175 to $275 - depending on age, gender, and breed of kitten. Other breeds may have differing adoption donation amounts. We occasionally have reduced fees - these will be noted on the individual cat's listing. If someone adopts more then one cat from us, we will reduce the subsequent adoption fee(s) by $25 to $50 (depending on age of cats/kittens adopted). WE ONLY ACCEPT ADOPTION DONATIONS BY CREDIT CARD (VIA PAYPAL) OR CASH - WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS! The adoption fees help defray SOME of the costs associated with rescuing/fostering these kitties. Except for the persian, himalayan, and exotic shorthair cats listed on this site, South Texas Persian Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site (unless otherwise noted that the cat is "purebreed"). Please note: if someone places a deposit on a cat/kitten to "hold" them until they are ready to go home, and the person changes their mind, the deposit is non-refundable - it is only refundable if the cat/kitten become unadoptable for some reason.

Donations are always welcome!
