My Story

UPDATE 7/29/09: This is what Sammie's foster mom has to say about him: "he is EXTREMELY sweet...he knows how to behave well in a house...Loves to sleep in the bed and cuddle, great with the litterbox, scratches on the scratching posts, all around a really wonderful cat, if I didn't have three already I'd want to keep him! He also likes to find a good place to sit and watches t.v. whenever it is on- Dr. Blackburn gave us a copy of "A cat's meow- a cat sitter dvd" and out of all the cats here he likes it the most, spends a while trying to catch the squirrels :-)" POSTED 7/23/09: Hi! My name is Sammie. I am a single strong male looking for a life long companion. I enjoy quiet days napping in the sun and socializing with others. I am quite a large guy at 13.5 lbs but I assure you I am all muscle. I'm not sure about my heritage but some say I look like I have Bengal and Abyssinian background. Now to tell you a little bit about myself...I'm not sure where to begin. I don't have much memory prior to about a month ago when I found this really nice lady and begged for her to let me come inside. I remember living somewhere before but this wasn't the right place. I don't know what happened to my original family, but no one seems to be able to find them. They say I need to look for another family, because there are already too many at the house that I found. I'm a very good roommate and I'm not messy. I do tend to eat a lot but what is a big strong guy to do. When I was younger somebody decided that I shouldn't have children so I had a little operation to prevent that....so you don't have to worry about there being more of me. The new foster family that I found also took me to the vet to have me checked out...they took my blood and tested me for disease and gave me some shots. They said I was very healthy and only about 2 years old! I was glad to hear that since I feel terrific. They also put this chip in me so that I wouldn't ever get lost again. That sounds like a really good idea to me. I know that I had a family before but I just don't know how to find them. My ideal new companion would be someone who would love to snuggle with me, but who is also energetic and playful. These new people told me that all you have to do is e-mail them at [email protected] and then I could go and live with you forever. Wouldn't that be cool!!!! You can also visit the PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville on Sat or Sunday from 11am-5pm and speak to a lady named Robin. She will be able to tell if you are my soul mate and if I can come to live with you. I hope I get to meet you soon.
