Salmon

Salmon and Kiki's owner had arranged for a young girl to pet sit and would make arrangements at a later date to take them back into their care. Sadly, they never came back and this young girl was not in a position to take on two senior cats. The mother tried to surrender them to one of our animal welfare charities here in Hamilton and was advised it would be a $400 surrender fee for the two cats even though they did not belong to them. Further into the conversation, once they learned that the cats were seniors, they turned her down immediately. The reason being was due to the fact that it was kitten season and basically had no room to help these adult cats. They would make room for any kittens being surrendered but not these two cats???? I am appalled by their reply and have a hard time trying to understand these welfare charities responsibilities and what their role actually is in aiding these animals. That is another story!!! They were both in rough shape when brought into our care and with some extra TLC, we feel they are ready to be adopted. The foster home has observed that they are not truly bonded in the sense of the word and can be adopted separately or together. This is what she has to say about Salmon: This sweet, senior gal is laid back, affectionate, snuggly and very snoozy. She sleeps a lot and enjoys being brushed, She is pretty easy about taking her meds twice a day. Definitely a sweetheart! Salmon is approx. 7 years of age.
