Happy Summer! Kitten Season is here like the high temperatures! There are lots of kittens, moms and other young to older cats that need homes. We are full! So many kitties need homes, so please consider adopting! Remember you save TWO cats lives (and make countless more cats & kittens lives better) by adopting! I'm a domestic short haired black and white tuxedo, spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 7 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/ Treasured Friends Rescue in NWI. Everyone says I'm a sweet girl, so why am I at the shelter?? I had a home and I'm extremely gentle and loving...what happened, why I am here? The people at the shelter told me my previous owner passed away, so I lost my home. I was so sad that I won't see my person again. I was sick when I first got to the shelter and I almost gave up. The nice people at the shelter kept telling me I had to get better because someone is looking for me and wants to be my person...is that you? Knowing a person is out there looking for me and will love me (and I'll love them back! ) is what gave me the strength to recover! I started eating and feeling better and now I'm ready to get out of here! I'm feeling so much better and had all my blood work done and it was purrrfect!! I'll always miss my original person, but I'm ready for my new home!! I am a little shy at first but once you pet me, I LOVE it!! I get sooo happy and purrrrrry! I'm really soft and I love to cuddle up in a soft bed! I would be a nice lap kitty and your friend forever! I can't wait to get another chance! I would love to give all my love to someone who loves me too! Come see me at the shelter today! I have my own " room" there and we can visit! I am very sweet and I do like other kitties, so if you have another kitty already we should be able to get along ( with the proper introduction period) . However, not sure about dogs. Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
