Although I tested FIV positive, I might not have FIV as the test is only looking at antibodies which I might have gotten from my cat mom. I will be tested again when I am a bit older and the antibodies have more time to be dissipate from my system. It is rare for the actual disease to transmit from mom cat to kittens.
That said, FIV cats can have a normal healthy life as an indoor kitty. FIV is very hard to contract between cats.
