I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Interesting Stuff About QUARTZ:

Although QUARTZ is listed primarily as a 'domestic' grey cat with medium length fur, he closely resembles a 'Nebelung'. According to Wikipedia, "The Nebelung is a characteristic and elegant cat breed which is just beginning to be recognized by breeders. Nebelungs typically have long bodies, wide-set green eyes, long and dense fur, and mild dispositions. To be more specific, Nebelung’s have a distinctive silky blue-grey coat. The body and tail are long, the ears large in proportion to the head and the eyes range in color from yellowish green to green. Size is medium and the body well muscled. The coat is medium long on the body, longer on the tail, with lighter colored guard hairs. The overall appearance is long, sturdy and well muscled."

Nebelungs tend to have distinct personalities. These characteristics are described by Cat Fancy as follows: "These cats are lively, playful, affectionate, good-natured and intelligent cats. The Nebelung prefers their own family and often keep a distance to strangers. It is, however, a cat which gladly accepts company of its people or of another cat."

Quartz had been adopted but was returned because of some major changes in the household which made him very uncomfortable. First, his owner had to move. Second, (and most disconcerting to Quartz) his owner acquired a dog. It appears that Quartz is not a fan of dogs and never will be. Prior to the dog, we were told that Quartz behaved as follows: "He loves kisses and loves to receive them. Will often give kisses when asked or when near your face. He is very curious and will open cabinets and take a nap inside. Nicest cat in the world!" In addition, she described him using the following adjectives: affectionate, playful, lap cat, likes to be petted, vocal, OK with cats, and active.

Quartz isn’t quite sure why he is back at the shelter and certainly can't believe that he got trumped by a dog! What is certain is that he wants to be with people again. Come meet him soon! He's sure to be your best friend and most devoted companion.
