I am a beautiful white and grey, 2 ½-year-old, neutered boy in need of a caring new home. I am a very special cat in that my vet is sure that I am at least one-half “Turkish Van” – a breed that originated in the Middle East many years ago. In Turkey, they no longer allow export of Vans, so seeing one here is a real rarity. Just FYI – here’s what the Cat Fancier’s Association says about us… “The Turkish Van takes three to five years to reach full maturity and is a large and agile cat of substantial strength. They are very intelligent as well as curious and make very rewarding companions. The breed is a healthy one and the unique coat does not lend itself to matting, so they require little grooming.” I am also an outgoing, sweet, lap cat (even if I AM about 3½ feet long when I’m stretched out!) who loves everyone despite my shaky beginning in life. I was found covered with motor oil and bugs with my friend “Cleo” (also listed here) when we were tiny kittens. Our current people rescued us and have loved and spoiled us ever since, but they have developed severe allergies to cats so they need to find us new homes where we’ll be appreciated and loved as much as we are now.
