Both Rory and Peppy are believed to be carrying the FIP virus and need homes where each is an only cat, or where the owners are knowedgeable about the condition and understand the risks. They are not symptomatic and the vet doesn't expect them to be. It's something that they'll always be a carrier of and could possibly give to another cat. Adopters will need to understand the risks of having a FIP carrier in the same household as another pet.
FIP is not transmissible to dogs or humans.
These cats were living with a breeder and are now in one of our foster homes. They haven't been there long enough to settle in yet. Their foster mom says they're still a bit skittish but are friendly and loving.
