My Story

Pepita Poquita MRQ# K5-24-2 DOB: 04/05/24 Meet Pepita Poquita and you’ll instantly be smitten with her mittens! Pepita is doubly unique because not only is she a polydactyl cat, but she’s also a rare female orange tabby. She has a thumb on her front paws which makes them look like cute little mittens, and she’s also a very extroverted, playful, and cuddly kitten. When she’s not thumb wrestling or playing patty cakes with her brother, Pawblo, she loves to be held and cuddled! Together they make a purrfect pair. Pepita gets along with other cats, small dogs and children. She is also spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Some fun facts about Polydactyl/Hemingway cats: This breed is named after the legendary writer Ernest Hemingway, who developed a fondness for these unusual cats after being gifted one by a ship’s captain. His former Key West, Florida home is now a sanctuary for these special felines. Polydactyl cats were considered lucky by ship captains in New England. They were valued for their climbing, balancing and hunting abilities to control rats on the ships. There are no health problems associated with polydactyl cats. Personality Traits: Is litter box trained Great for first-time cat owner Great for a family with children Has been around other cats Has been around SMALL dogs Is a very ACTIVE kitty Is very outgoing and independent LIKES to be held LIKES to be picked up Is used to having nails trimmed Is used to being groomed Should be adopted with sibling If interested, please contact my foster mom Jenny at [email protected] or (714) 873-0748
