My Story

AGE: 10 - 11 months (as of 07/02/24) DESCRIPTION: DSH - Tortoiseshell Tabby (Torbie) LOCATION: PETS Shelter (114 W Main Street) - Panora, IA MY STORY: One day in early September a pregnant stray showed up at the rodeo grounds and local residents began feeding her. It wasn't long after that she had a litter of 3 kittens that looked like mini versions of her. One of the residents made contact with us and we were able to take mama and her 3 little mini me's and place them in a foster home. They became our little mushroom family! Oyster loves to be held or snuggled- that is when she is not running and playing with her sister, Shiitake! She is also the first one to go over and put her paws on her a leg and beg to be held but she's also a little shy at first and will make you earn her trust. Oyster loves to run on the kitty exercise wheel and will sometimes even join another kitty on it at the same time. She's the purrfect blend of playful and energetic with a side of snuggly as well. Although she loves to run and play, she is not rambunctious and she is a bit on the quieter side. She gets along well with all the other kitties and is close to both her sister and her mother, Portobello. Oyster has the most stunning of markings on her bright tortoiseshell tabby (making her a torbie!) coat. MORE DETAILS: Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $25. Adopt a pair of kitties for $50. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms. We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt" and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty. P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
