My name is Owl and I'm a young mama who's kittens have since left the nest! I was rescued from an abandoned building near a farm with my sibling, Piglet, when we were both pregnant and needing a safe space from wildlife predators. I am a really shy cat that is still pretty scared of humans, and while a lot of time and patience has made it so that I will tolerate my foster parents, ultimately, I'm a cat that just prefers to do her own thing. Being in a home with a friendly cat definitely helps me to feel safer and more comfortable as I like having a kitty friend around that can encourage me to do things. I'm usually pretty quiet until my foster mom shows up with wet food and then I like to talk loudly to make sure she knows I like the tasty stuff from the can and to keep bringing it. I do allow occasional pets, and I'm not at all aggressive, I just have spent my entire life away from humans but with other cats and it's been a big change to adjust to. If you are someone who is open to giving a super shy cat a place to be space and decompress, and are willing to let that cat do her own thing, then this could be a good fit for you. But we recognize that not all cats warm up to people and become super loving kitties. Time and fostering so far has shown us that while Owl may slowly become more comfortable in a home, there is no guarantee that she will ever become a "people person" kind of cat. As she is just an introvert that likes to do her own thing.
