Othello is one of the most handsome cats I have ever seen with a personality to match! He was picked up as a stray by animal control and sadly no one ever came looking for him. He is about 3 years old, a ragdoll mix with medium silky white, charcoal & brown fur and a black diamond patch on his nose. He is a large solid kitty( not fat) with big double paws. He is as sweet and laidback as they come.
Now for the good news.... FIV is not a death sentence. Many cats live a normal lifespan with this virus. The virus over years can weaken a cats immune system. FIV cats must be kept indoors and fed a higher quality cat food to keep them healthy. No special treatments or medicines are required for this virus. Although, some choose to give vitamins to help boost the immune system. FIV is a CAT ONLY virus and is transmitted via deep bite wounds.
