Oscar Age: 12 weeks Gender: Male Personality: Oscar is a very typical high-energy kitten. He enjoys playing and wrestling, etc. He is in a foster home with other cats and dogs and does just fine. Oscar has not been around children, but his foster believes he would do well. Oscar is looking for a home with other cats or with his sister, Calliope. He also needs a home with plenty of toys because he will turn everything into a toy if he’s not stimulated. He is not very cuddly but might grow into that with time. Right now, his main focus is playing. Oscar does enjoy being around people, just not being restrained/held at this time. Background: Oscar fell from the roof of a shed and was found after the homeowner’s dogs alerted them to him. His sister, Calliope was found a few hours later. Calliope had an eye infection, but both kittens were in otherwise good condition. Oscar had no health concerns on intake. No mom was found. Medical: Calliope’s combo test for FIV and FeLV was negative for both. Oscar’s was positive for FIV. This most likely is due to their mother’s antibodies while he was nursing. The doctor recommends retesting 6 weeks after the initial test (we will cover it). The test will most likely be negative since Calliope’s test is negative. FIV is only contagious by deep bite wounds so there is no concern that he will spread it to other cats if he is truly positive. The likelihood of this is low. He has not been neutered, yet. All of the following are included with her adoption: Exam/Neuter, Rabies, full FVRCP vaccine series, combo test, and a microchip. He has received his first round of vaccines and is combo negative.
