My Story

An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes. Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please! Opie is a super outgoing and snuggly tabby boy who adores laps and people! This sweet boy came to us from a shelter after being left behind by his family. Opie doesn't know why he was left behind, but he holds no grudges! He adores people, other cats and hanging in your lap as soon as you sit down. Opie is FIV+, and again, that's nothing to keep you from adopting this darling boy! The FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt! It is not transmissible to people or to non-cat species and is not a death sentence. It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life. Cat to cat transmission does not occur with casual contact and it is not airborne. Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives! Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting: https://www.fivcats.com/FIV/fiv_introduction.html https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
