My Story

Hi! I'm Olivia! Do you see how gorgeous I am? I'm equally as nice, which is rare for a calico! My brother and I recently lost our dad and had to come to the shelter in hopes of finding a loving home again. We were our dad's babies, and we would lay with him, in his bed, when he was sick, to make him feel better. It was quite the shock to learn we had to move from the only home we've ever known. We are 9 years old, MASSIVE and fluffy. I'm bonded with my brother, Sylvester. He's a 22lb, fluffy tuxedo. My shelter mom catches Sylvester grooming me all the time. He's really more of a mini pony than a cat. Back to me! Everyone that sees me says I'm the prettiest kitty they've ever seen! My shelter mom says I'm a big sweetheart! I love pets and getting brushed. I like to play with ribbon wand toys. (both Sylvester and I like to play with the ribbons) I will say, Sylvester is the more active one. I prefer to find a nice comfy place to relax for most of the day- usually near a window. Both Sylvester and I would do really well with someone who is home more often than not. Maybe someone who works from home OR someone who is retired. We get a little anxious when no one is home for a long stretch of time. We may still be dealing with the abrupt passing of our original owner, and we just need a little reassurance that someone is around. Of course, you don't have to be home ALL day. With time, our anxiety may fade. Sylvester and I are FIV+. We can live long, healthy lives with FIV. This just means that our immune system gets hit harder by secondary infections. It's similar to HIV in humans. This is transmitted to cats by deep bites. This may be something that was passed down from our mother. We coexist just fine with the other cats in the shelter. During our last vet visit, our vet was SHOCKED to find out we were 9 years old because we looked so young and were so healthy! This is NOT Feline Leukemia (FeLV). We can be around other cats. What do you say? Do you need two massive fluffy kitties to cuddle with?
