My Story

Oliver was found on the streets and being that he is incredibly sweet and affectionate a Good Samaritan wanted to offer him a better life and a foster was found. He was taken to get neutered and was checked out by a veterinarian. Unfortunately, he tested FIV Positive, which in today’s time has been documented that it is not the end of the world. An FIV Positive kitty can live a long life. The only thing to know is their immune system is a bit compromised so when they get sick, they will need a little more TLC to get through the hump. Oliver is like the cartoon cat, Garfield, he would eat an entire tray of lasagna if he could. He gets vocal when his meal is not delivered in a timely manner. He has a GREAT Personality and loves attention and affection. Please note he would rather get soft pets and strokes, if you pet him too rough he gets a bit fisty and will give you a love bite or paw at you. His love bits are rather a nibble but for this reason he would do better in a home without children. He has a very chill personality, every once in awhile you will see him play but he rather enjoys life lying on the bed, by the window or by your side watching TV. Oliver likes to sleep with his foster by her side. When Oliver looks at you, you feel him communicating with you and feel his love and depth, he truly is a special boy. There is something unusual about Oliver, he only wants to use a pee pee pad when he goes to the bathroom. About 4 types of litter were presented to him and he just did not like any of them. The Vet even checked out his paws to see if maybe it was the sensation of the liter that might be hurting his paws, but his paws are perfect. So the foster has two large liter boxes and puts in a pee pee pad in each one. The foster said she prefers this, it’s easier to clean and the cost of liter has increased so much pee pee pads might be a less expensive option. Oliver does get along with other cats but since he is FIV Positive it would be best for him to be the only cat or join a family that already has a FIV positive cat. He will be a Great Addition to any family that can see passed he is FIV Positive. He currently is eating ¾ of a 5.5 oz can of pate wet food twice a day and has access to dry food 24/7.
