Octavia

This beautiful baby Octavia has had a second chance at life… A wonderful woman had contacted us about neighbors who moved, and left their cat outside. Not being spayed she obviously became pregnant. She was crying and pawing at the door and was huge looking like she was going to deliver any day. Meowing and trying to get in so she could have her babies somewhere safe. We took her in, she was purring and friendly and rubbing against the whole staff. She was happy and content, and safe and that was all that mattered. That night she had 7 babies, making us realize that she finally felt safe and relieved.. Octavia was the best momma ever. One morning we came in and found some discharge and a foul smell, and knew that something was wrong. However, she was still trying to clean and feed her babies even though clearly she did not feel well. We rushed her to the ER immediately. She did not want to leave her babies, but her infection was so severe we did not want her to die or her babies. So the staff took all 7 babies home to bottle feed! Every baby survived and are amazing and healthy and almost ready for adoption. Octavia was in the hospital for days, and it was touch and go. She is now currently back at the shelter healthy, gained weight, and is up for adoption. She is such a wonderful cat, and absolutely stunning. She is good with cats and loves people.
