My Story

Obo and his brother Meebs are not your typical easy-going cats-they come with extra challenges that require a special kind of dedication and love. Here's what you need to know if you're considering giving these sweet boys a forever home: Home Adjustments: - Solid surface floors are essential, as carpets are not suitable. Be prepared for them to use their nails to climb up your couch.- Potty Pads: You'll need to have potty pads available and be okay with occasional accidents.Safety: Any stairs in your home will need baby gates to prevent falls. Despite these challenges, if you're willing to put in the effort to help them thrive, you'll be rewarded with the sweetest, most loving companions. Meet OboWhen you sit down on the couch, Obo will wobble over from wherever he is to join you. He loves to push his head under your arm for a cozy Obo hug. Curious about your dinner? He'll likely want to check it out and maybe have a little taste! Challenges and Special Needs:Obo and Meebs both have moderate to severe cerebellar hypoplasia, making finding a potty solution difficult. They sometimes use a litterbox with high sides and a low entry, but they mostly rely on heavy, thick potty pads. Accidents happen, but they always try their best. Adoption ConsiderationsWhile they adore each other, they are not completely bonded and could be adopted separately. However, two is always better than one, and they do enjoy each other's company. If you're ready to open your heart and home to these special boys, you'll find their love and companionship to be incredibly rewarding. Approximate DOB: 2017Foster Home Location: Whitewater CH is a neurologic disorder that doesn't get worse and doesn't get better. CH most often causes jerky, shaky, unbalanced movements. There is no pain associated with CH and the cat knows no other life and often do great! You can learn more about CH here: https://americanpetsalive.org/uploads/resources/Austin-Pets-Alive-Cerebellar-Hypoplasia-Cats-Handout-52F6.pdfIf you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: https://www.commcat.org/copy-of-adopt-a-bff Please allow several days for us to process your application.
