Come meet Mortie, and other cats and kittens available for adoption, at Petco, 2129 South Telegraph Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302, just north of Square Lake Rd. These kitties live there so you can see them any time the store is open, every Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ask the store personnel for an application or complete one via email at [email protected]. Mortie will also be at the adoption event on Saturday, Oct. 2nd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bark-A-Bout, 14660 23 Mile Rd. in Shelby Twp. Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption, as well as food, microchip clinic, dog first aid demo, entertainment and vendors. Enjoy the Ultimate Air Dogs competition too.

And, please join us Saturday, Oct. 23rd for the "Cards for Critters" euchre night to raise money for the homeless animals of Paws for Life. The Halloween-theme event begins at 7 p.m. at Kart 2 Kart, 42705 Van Dyke, Sterling Heights, MI 48314. $20 per player and enjoy High Score prize, Loner Pot, 50/50 Raffle, costume contest, cash bar, snacks, good company and lots of fun for a great cause. Meet Mortie! He is such a character. He loves people and is known to be a mama's boy. He loves affection, attention, companionship and PLAYTIME! He's energetic and active, that's for sure. He loves toys and playing with other kitties. He needs a cat scratching post, tower or cubbies to keep him playing where he should and not on top of every piece of furniture he can get to - typical kitten. But as soon as you start petting him, he melts. He's a real people kitten. He's a handsome little guy and we think he may be mixed with Siamese or Oriental breeds too. Mortie LOVES his sister Tortie - they play, nap, eat and do everything together. Give Mortie the home of his kitten dreams. Adoption fee: $100 and includes neuter, testing, vaccinations and deworming. Adoption fee for two: $150.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to [email protected] to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
