Six year old Molly is doing fantastic on her diet now that we have cut chicken out (she seems to be allergic) and is down to a tad under 19lbs! She is a lap cat. When you sit, she'll politely ask to get on your lap with her paws so you can make room for her.
Molly is used to being an only pet, so we don't know for sure how she'd feel about other animals in the home. But with her laid back, mellow personality, we suspect she would do fine with another laid back, mellow cat or even a calm, cat savvy dog with slow, proper introductions. Molly enjoys the company of calm kids who are good at gentle petting (lots and lots of petting!).
Molly has wrapped up treatment for a long-term ear issue and chin acne issue that were likely caused by her food allergy to chicken. The vet doesn't think she'll need additional care for the acne, but she may need to continue to get ear drops once a week long term to keep her ears healthy.
