MIKADO's Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is SIDEKICK (Orange)
Like all sidekicks, I'm just plain good company. I like attention, and I also like my solitude. I don't go looking for trouble but I'm no scaredy-cat either. If you are looking for a steady companion to travel with you on the road of life, look no further.
Interesting Stuff About MIKADO:
MIKADO, an unusual name for a cat that is just a bit misunderstood. The word 'mikado' was formerly used to refer to the Emporer of Japan. Given a name that stands for huge influence and power can be a bit intimidating and pretty hard to live up to. Mikado certainly isn't interested in power but he wouldn't mind influencing people to see him for who he is. He is a loyal intelligent cat that isn't especially a fan of big changes. He doesn't view change as necessarily a good thing (some of us humans can certainly relate!). Being back in the shelter after having a home for over seven years is a bit daunting. His previous adopter was an elderly woman and the family feared that Mikado may be getting underfoot. Mikado did not view his return to the shelter after all this time as one to be happy about; however, he is trying hard to be stoic.
Interviewing Mikado for Petfinder was actually quite a treat. He quickly responded to gentle petting and soft conversation with enthusiasm. When he walked over to get closer to the hand that was petting him, I noticed that he was a big fluff ball. His fluffy medium length fur sways with each stride. His tail is even fluffier akin to the appearance of a tail one would see on a squirrel. His physical appearance is captivating; however his face is his trademark. Looking at his face just makes one want to pick him up and snuggle him. His eyes are a mellow sunshine yellow and he has a splash of black on his white nose. Simply as cute as can be!
Mikado needs an understanding owner and he is certain to thrive. It is clear that he wants attention by the way he readily responds to people. Shelter life is not for him and who can blame him. He has lived in a home since he was a kitten. Certainly not an easy transition for anyone. From his previous adoption we do know that he is a faithful companion. He loves to be petted, held, and will eagerly warm your lap with his fluffy body. Mikado is trying to catch the eye of his next adopter. He's ready, don't make him wait long. Come meet him at the CAT Shelter in Sherwood.
