My Story

Miss Maddy came to us in an interesting way. We were told that she was pregnant and a Vet had seen FOUR heartbeats on ultrasound. Well, fast forward 6 weeks (average cat gestation is 9 weeks, heartbeats are visible on ultrasound at 2 weeks minimum) the foster hasn’t noticed any changes in Maddy’s appearance or behavior. So, off to our vet she goes. During her visit they performed an x-ray that revealed not only that Maddy is not pregnant but, she’s actually already spayed! While she was at the vet, we addressed some chronic nasal discharge Maddy had been having, the vet did several diagnostics to rule things out but, didn’t actually find a reason why her nose is drippy but, after 3 round of antibiotics we finally found a treatment that works for her. She will likely never be 100% normal but, her sinus drainage is managed with a steroid drop into her nose on an as-needed basis. Her foster mom has been able to go 3-4 weeks between doses. Her nasal issues are not contagious to other cats, she is combo test negative and she has been around numerous other cats and kittens in her foster home, none of whom have gotten sick from Maddy. If you’ve read this far and want to bring precious Maddy into your life, we would love to see this girl thriving in a home of her own!
