My Story

Mac has beautiful markings & color. Our vet said he's a Brown Mackerel Tabby. He has beautiful oyster markings on sides. He's sweet & loves his belly rubbed. He is shy at 1st but very friendly once he knows you. He loves to follow me around ,likes to be close to me & my husband most the day. Mac healthy, Had him tested for FeLv / FIV 10/28/2020 result Negitive. He's up to date on Rabies vaccine, has 3yr. Due for another distemper. Mac had a really rough start to life. He was born on a old farm property & was starving bc he was a little kitten & struggling to get even a bite of food or water bc there were so many other adult cats & kittens without much food or water. He had severe Upper respiratory infection, eye infections, diarrhea,. He came up to my foot when I went there to donate food to the starving cats my niece had told me about them & their desperate situation. He sat on top my foot & I picked him up. I fell in love. He was not real friendly that 1st night but a sweetheart in a few days. Took him to vets many times to get him healthy. Worked on diet for 1st year cooking him chicken, rice, pumpkin, vegs etc. until his stomach was ok with regular kitten/cat food. He eats regular cat food, wet & dry now 2x a day & some snacks. Reason we are putting him up for adoption is we unexpectedly took in many other rescue cats to prevent them from being euthanized, plus we have our own cats & some special needs cats. He is not getting along with some of them. I think he would do much better in a one-on-one home or maybe a home with 1 or 2 cats. He's not mean, but he gets little jealous & sometimes will start a conflict, bc he thinks he playing but plays rough, not really wanting to fight. I do think he only does that bc of too many cats on our home & vets thinks the same thing. his blood test were all normal, so trying behavior meds now. I have an apartment that he was in for most 1st first year with a friend that rented it & he was a only cat. Since situtation changed with apartment rental we moved him with us full-time & he cannot handle the amount of cats we have. It breaks our hearts to let him go but we love him enough to try to find him a forever home where he'll be more relaxed & happy. I think he will thrive as a onky cat or in a 1 or 2 cat home. Bc he's fine here if he's in a room by himself. So If you adopt him & there is any problem we would take him back. We would never want him to be euthanized or put in an animal shelter. He is definitely an indoor cat only. He loves to sit in the window to watch birds & bugs outside but cannot go out side bc we were afraid he will run away since he was born outside on farm. We just feel he deserves a great special home with more one-on-one attention. Unfortunately some unexpected things have came up in our life medically for us so I cannot give him as much one-on-one time now as I think he deserves. But I think he would be a wonderful pet for a one cat household. I never planned on having as many cats as I do but there was a situation if I didn't take them in & take care of them to find them better homes they would not have survived they would have been euthanized. Most all the other cats we have get along he just doesn't like to be around a lot of noise or a lot of other cats. But he will lay on your lap or your belly loves to sleep on the back of the sofa behind my head with two of our other cats. He likes to watch Football & Soccer on TV. He's a fun cat he has a good heart. I always tell him he's my goofy boy. He deserves another chance at a loving forever home with less cats. If you adopt a cat from me you will get a file with all vet records paperwork since the day we got him . I will also be able to give you many pictures from when he was a baby up so you can make your own album . We have a Adoption Contract we will e-mail you if intrested in adopting Mac. Text or call me, Deborah if interested 301-471-0303 or e-mail me. [email protected]. I respond quicker to text, so text is better to start , then e- mail. Thanks, Deborah
