My Story

***This is a courtesy posting - please contact Sarah at 612-810-0295 if you are interested in meeting Lucy*** Hello. My name is Lucy. I am an 8-year-old, petite, spayed Manx kitty looking for a new home. You see, my best friend passed away, suddenly. After he adopted me several years ago, we grew very close and took good care of one another. In his last days, I was his constant companion. How I miss him. Don't let my tiny stature fool you. I have an enormous heart. My current caregivers are surprised at how well I'm adapting to my loss. Well, I refuse to act scared or stressed because my friend would want me to be brave at this time. Some say I'm as loyal and personable as a dog (I will always greet you at the door), although I’m not sure I appreciate being compared to a dog. *wink* I know there are many kitties in tough situations and in search of forever homes, but I hope my numerous attractive qualities may catch your attention. First, you should know I am healthy and up to date on all shots. Like I said, my friend took good care of me. I am tidy and use my litter box exactly as I was trained to. My friend said I was an amusing companion. We played with homemade toys, like string on a stick. He loved how curious I was! Please know I wouldn't mind experimenting with a store bought toy - one with bright feathers, perhaps - should you buy me one. I also know how to entertain myself - birds outside the window fascinate me. Smart girl that I am, I know a few words, like "num-nums." When my friend said these words and shook my treat jar, I'd come running! Finally, at the risk of sounding vain, I must say I'm an uncommonly pretty and lady-like cat. A few more things to know about me: I was declawed at some point in my life - luckily I don't remember that; I have no history with dogs, but was previously surrendered to a shelter because I didn't hit it off with other cats in the household; I am an indoor-only cat. My current caregivers and I believe I'd do best as an only cat. I seek a home my friend would have approved of. I'm determined to be patient through the process, since finding the right home is very important to me. While I trust you would offer me only the best, my caregivers have decided a home visit would be required before I could be officially adopted. I want to love and be loved for many years to come. I have a $100 adoption fee which will be donated to animal rescue. To meet me some time, please contact Sarah at 612-810-0295. Hers and my schedules are flexible. Love, Lucy
