Lucien

Lucien is a very special cat. He was found as a stray in very bad shape- his right eye was severely damaged. The good citizen that found him was able to take him in and reached out to us for help. The vet performed an enucleation and luckily, there was no infection to be concerned about. Lucien began his road to recovery. He was a very sweet and loving cat when he was found, in spite of his tragic injury. After losing his eye, he became very frightened and even paranoid. He couldn't protect himself as he had done as a stray. He could no longer see what was happening around him like he could before. He was jumpy and defensive; (who could blame him?). Slowly Lucien has been able to adjust. He once again started to trust and was not afraid of what he couldn't see. Now he can be touched, petted, and loved. He especially wants his belly rubbed. In fact, he has become the "Walmart Greeter"! He runs to meet you when you walk in the door. He loves to socialize with all the cats and is the first to run and greet them. Lucien will do well with lots of love and attention. Consistency and routine will help him be more comfortable. He has a lot of love to give. He will be a great pet as an only cat or with several cats. PS: He loves wet food of any kind :)
