Please check here for updated adoption hours. I have lived with cats. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I am looking for a home with a patient person. What my friends at ACC say about me: Leani tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. A volunteer writes: Context can make all the difference. I'm a different person in different situations and it seems that so is Leani. Brought to us in June, her notes sparkle as they dance off the page describing a friendly and affectionate cat who pounces after her toys and confidently begins conversations with friends. But, as can happen in new situations, Leani is feeling unsure and though her confidence isn't the same as it once was, she'll get there again. Leani was brought to us because her person could no longer care for her and making sense of the Care Center has been a slow process that she just can't seem to get the hang of. I visit with her and share treats and toys, but we know Leani's not always a fan of strangers, thus making shelter life all the more challenging.
