** LARRY CANNOT GET A BREAK!! **
** FOUR HOMES since April 2023!!! **
Larry is a HANDSOME and affectionate silver purebred Bengal who is 5-year-old and weighs 12 pounds. Larry was surrendered to Bengal Rescue in April of 2023.
Through no fault of his own, Larry has had a very difficult time finding a forever home. He needs to feel he belongs to a caring and loving person and will never be given up on, again. Larry needs an owner who will be patient and loving, who can give him the security he deserves.
Our current foster tells us that Larry is a sweet boy who loves chin scratches, cuddles, interactive play, and freeze-dried minnows. He is outdoor curious and enjoys some supervised outdoor time. He is harness trained and knows the word “sit”. Once he is comfortable around you and in his environment, he is not shy around new people and will hang out with guests on the couch. He is not afraid to tell you his thoughts and feelings (even if you don’t understand what he is saying) - he's chatty!
Larry loves to give strong head-butts to his humans. Sometimes he will say "Hi!!!" by going up on his hind legs and gently place his front paws on your legs, which is just adorable. He will let you clip his claws! Larry loves to lay by the window and sunbathe in the afternoon. We think he will be fine in a household with a large calm dog, older children maybe if they are calm and respectful of his boundaries.
Larry can be a bit particular about his litter box, but his foster has found that an XXL box with deep littler works well for Larry and it must be cleaned several times a day. He has been known to go outside the litterbox on occasion. He needs patience to help him work through his issues. His foster said he is doing better now and has not peed outside the box for some time but still can have an occasional accident. At present he is not on any medication for this condition. He may have FLUTD - you can read more about this resolvable condition, in our article (This is a one of the MOST common issues with all cats (this is not unique to Bengals): https://bengalrescue.org/resources/litter-box-issues/
We believe Larry will do well in a quiet home where someone is home with him and can play with him a lot. NO children under 12 and NO other cats, please. Larry needs a person who understands the Bengal breed. If Larry could have access to a secure catio enclosure would be a plus. One foster home had one and he loved spending time in it.
Otherwise, Larry is a healthy cat who just wants to be around his humans. Larry is up-to-date on his vaccines, is neutered and has been microchipped.

** Backstory **
We mentioned that Larry has been in FOUR homes since April 2023. Here is a brief explanation of Larry's journey:
1) Larry was originally surrendered due to the changing nature of his family unit. The family just had a human baby. Once the baby became mobile, he was too handsy for Larry to handle.
2) Larry was adopted by a family soon after, placed as the only cat. Unfortunately due to the stress of changing homes, he did have some inappropriate urination issues. The family disagreed about how to address this, and unfortunately one of the people thought that Larry was doing this on purpose (he wasn't). He was checked for a UTI (negative). The family was not in agreement about how to resolve this so we took Larry back and put him in foster.
3) New foster family was very experienced, however Larry could not adjust at the foster home due to the presence of other cats, and a dog. It just wasn't working, so we looked for a foster home that had no other pets.
4) Current foster LOVES Larry and says that the inappropriate urination situation is not a factor at this time (he is using his litter box appropriately). Unfortunately both of the fosters in the home are having to travel frequently for work, and they would like Larry to find a more stable situation. This is why Larry will not be staying.
