My Story

Lamar is a handsome brown tabby who loves treats, wet food, and toys. Full disclaimer: despite having been raised in a home, Lamar is very skittish. He doesn’t want to be petted at all and will run if he thinks you want to grab him. If you're still reading this after learning that he's skittish, thank you. We believe that living with several other pets in his foster home has been intimidating for Lamar and has stopped him from bonding with humans. However, we believe that if Lamar goes to a calmer home, there is a possibility that he will become more interested in humans. Turning a skittish cat into a friendly one might take time. Realistically, it could take months or even years for Lamar to trust you. You also have to know that he might never become friendly. Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can know in advance. Still, he needs someone who will love him whether he bonds with them or not. Lamar needs someone who will treat him with respect and care for him and his well-being even if he doesn’t bond with them. For example, this would mean taking him to the vet even if you have to put a trap inside your home so you can catch him. It’s not Lamar fault that he’s so skittish. This is his way of protecting himself against the world and he still deserves love and a home just like any other cat. If after reading all of this, you’re still interested in Lamar, please send us an inquiry through Petfinder, or an email, or fill out our application. Lamar has been neutered, vaccinated, and combo tested and currently lives in Texas.
