Lady Ruth a.k.a Devine

Lady Ruth is a cat that you will be instantly saddened by once you read her story. She originally came to us four-five years ago with a litter of kittens. Pulled out of a horrible living situation she was already wary of people. Through the volunteers love and understanding that she just needs some time she did finally start to accept pets and understand that not all humans are horrible. Her kittens were all adopted and thankfully Lady Ruth who went by the name of Devine while at the shelter found a loving home with a woman who understood her and just wanted to give her a home. "If she wanted attention then she surely would receive it and if she did not than that was fine as well" was what the woman told us She would love her no matter what. Lady Ruth her new name was loved and even had another cat companion that she was now living with. The new kitty was more outgoing and "friendlier" as was told to us and Lady Ruth was shy but liked to receive her pets from her owner. Her owner loved her and even had a shirt printed up with her picture on it. A few months ago things went downhill for her owner and that meant for Lady Ruth as well. Her owner got sick and was no longer able to care for herself and could not come home. The friendly one was instantly taken. The movers came and moved all the woman's belongings out and left poor Lady Ruth in an empty apartment. We went in and rescued her once again. Lady Ruth is a quiet cat, she loves to receive attention and be petted and we were told would sit next to her owner and watch tv with her. She is not one of those cats that constantly needs attention and is not a fan of being picked up. She is looking for a quiet home, a sunny spot on the couch, the occasional pet and most of all someone to love her unconditionally.
