My Story

Kimiko is a beautiful 2-month old female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on May 7, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Lee Street in Belpre Ohio. Kimiko was accompanied by her three brothers (Billy Butcher, Frenchie and Hughie). Kimiko has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. Kimiko and her brothers were understandably a bit frightened when they first came to our shelter and huddled together to comfort each other. But they soon realized they were in a good place with kind kennel techs who already loved them, and they quickly became playful happy youngsters. Kimiko was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on May 8, 2024. She weighed 1.4 lbs that day. Kimiko was given booster vaccines on May 25, 2024. Sadly, her little brother Billy Butcher did not survive and passed away on June 16th. Kimiko, Frenchie and Hughie remained together and were 'The Three Musketeers". These photos were taken on July 5, 2024 shortly before Kimiko, Hughie, and Frenchie made their first public debuts (smile). They had become 'social butterflies' and were chosen to participate in the First Friday event in downtown Marietta Ohio on July 5, 2024. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Wendy Irvin who accompanied them that evening. Wendy was like a proud parent as she watched these three little ones. Kimiko, Frenchie and Hughie were wonderful goodwill ambassadors who loved attention from everyone (including children), and they were ok with several HSOV dogs who also shared the limelight. Frenchie was adopted on July 9, 2024. Kimiko and Hughie have remained together and would love to find a home as a bonded pair.
