11/7/08 My foster mom adopted me!
7/26/08 My foster mom says to tell you all that I really really want to be an only cat with some adult person or persons. I like being the center of attention. I love to kiss and cuddle. I just don't like competing with other fur kids. My foster mom cannot keep me because she has cats come in and out. Can I come home with you? I'll be extra special! I'm doing well, health wise.
6/22/08 I'm doing good except that now that I'm feeling better, I'm harrassing the other kitties at this foster home. Foster mom thinks I'd be a great 'only' cat and she loves me. So how about it?
6/6/08 I'm doing well, post-surgery! Thank you to sponsors: half the money need for the surgery was collected. More sponsors would be appreciated. Thank you!
6/4/08 THANK YOU to those who have helped so far in sponsoring my pricey eye surgery. I had the eye surgery today and am recovering well in Deb's care... she says I was complaining within the hour! Please help with my bill. Purrs and headbutts, Kayla.
5/30/08 I need medical (financial) SPONSORS if you can help! I will be having eye surgery in a special clinic in Memphis on Wednesday, June 4.
I got a corneal tear a couple of weeks back which left a 'dead spot' in my eye. Wonderful volunteer Deb M. took me home to Dumas with her, where her vet tried a procedure which would have enabled the area affected to heal. But he could not do it and recommended taking me to the ophthamologist. Deb is going to drive me all the way to Memphis and back! The surgery will cost $825 even with a discount! Yeowwwww! Please help if you can. That is a lot of money for Guardian Angels to come up with but they promise me I'm worth it.
4/15/08 Well, that's quite the adventure, moving to this new place. I'm in the green kitty room and doing okay. How about you?
11/27/07 I'm just quietly here, putting up with all these kids around here (fur kids). Where is my person, my special person with a quiet home for me, maybe a kitty companion? Is that too much to ask?
8/29/07 Well, I'm back! I didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I made myself at home and was friendly to everyone. But the roommate didn't like it when I meowed. What's a kitty gonna do? But the good thing is that now folks here know I CAN make a good home pet, so I'm hoping someone else will come along soon!

Diary 5/17/07 I'm being treated for an ear infection but I am otherwise just fine. I am one of those gals who is more demure. I like attention but I'm not going to chase someone for it. I am sure that if someone sees what a treasure I am and takes me home, I will over time blossom into a happy and more outgoing gal. Try me!
Diary 3/12/07: Even with so few cats at the shelter now, I manage to remain unremarked. Secretly I want love and attention and a home of my own but my special someone will probably have to come find me and work at it.
Kayla has been here tooooooo long. 'Rescue me,' she says, cuz she keeps getting picked on (and wounded) by other cats! She is a little bit shy, but once she settles in, she's very affectionate and wants to sleep with her human. The right home will be quieter, and her special human will give her the time she'll need to adjust to her new home in her own way.
