Meet Junebug, a nine-month-old kitten with a heartwarming story. In March 2023, our team at Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue went to an animal shelter intending to rescue a dog. However, as we were leaving, we couldn't help but notice a cage placed by the door. Inside were a mama cat and her seven adorable kittens, patiently waiting for their fate. Upon talking to a shelter volunteer, we discovered that these precious felines were scheduled to be euthanized that very afternoon. Unable to bear the thought, we knew we had to step in. The volunteer kindly informed us that we could take them all home , offering them a second chance at life. Among the kittens was Junebug, a tiny little ball of fur. She was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection, her eyes sealed shut. Despite her condition, her affectionate and loving nature shone through. As she grew older, we realized that she was visually impaired, with one eye being blue and blind. But that did not dampen her spirit or her ability to love unconditionally. We took Junebug under our wing, providing her with the necessary medical care, including spaying and vaccinations. We also ensured she received a microchip, guaranteeing her safety and security. As the last remaining kitten from her litter, Junebug is patiently waiting for her forever home. Her mother and siblings have all been adopted, leaving Junebug longing for a loving family to call her own.
