My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juneau, affectionately known as Francie in her foster home, a charming tortoiseshell kitty with a heartwarming story. Juneau arrived at her foster home alongside her brothers at just six weeks old, initially a bit shy but quickly revealing her sweet and playful personality. While her brother Freddie was immediately outgoing, Juneau needed a bit of coaxing to trust humans fully. Now, she's transformed into a delightfully affectionate companion who adores attention and expresses her happiness with a loud, non-stop purr. Highly intelligent and playful, Juneau loves to engage in games, often carrying toys around to invite her siblings to join in. Despite her initial reservations, she's proven herself to be fearless around larger animals like her foster mom's Labrador, showing a gentle and adaptable nature. Juneau thrives in a calm environment where she can receive plenty of love and attention, making her an ideal companion for someone looking to form a close bond with a loving pet. Juneau would prefer a quieter home setting and may attach herself closely to one person, mirroring the typical behavior of tortoiseshell cats. While she would love to be adopted alongside her brother Frankie (Kenai), she will also thrive as a solo pet, provided she receives the affection and care she craves. Her moderate energy level and indoor-only preference make her well-suited for apartment living, particularly with older, considerate children or adults who can appreciate her gentle and affectionate demeanor. If you're searching for a sweet and intelligent companion who promises to bring joy and affection into your home, Juneau (Francie) is eagerly awaiting her forever family to shower with love and playfulness. At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days. Keep in mind, the animal you're interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold. Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee. **Dog/Puppy applications - Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email [email protected]**
