My Story

Meet Journey and Conrad! These bonded brothers have been with us since they were little kittens. Their entire litter was very sickly from the time we got them, so they've had an uphill battle in life. Despite it all, they are both super sweet and loving. Both boys enjoy being held and snuggled. They will rub cheeks with our volunteers and purr like little motorboats, and they love kisses. The boys are also very playful. We'll often see one streaking across the center after a catnip mouse, with the other right on his heels. They also enjoy playing with and tackling other cats (whether those other cats enjoy it doesn't seem to matter). When they're tuckered out, their favorite spot is one of our window seats, where they can hang out and watch the outside world go by. And, of course, they enjoy hanging out in our volunteers' arms. The boys are so similar in appearance and personality that we have to tell them apart with one (Conrad) wearing a collar. Unfortunately, Conrad does have another defining feature - he has arthritis in his ankle from an injury when he was a kitten. If he gets too worn out, he starts to limp on it. According to our vet, there's no real treatment for this but rest, so Conrad will need an attentive parent. Both boys also have eye discharge on occasion, but this has always cleared up when they were in a foster home, it only flares up at the center due to the number of other cats and contagions. We believed it is caused by feline herpes, which is common in cats who have been outdoors. However, because it is contagious, we would not recommend the boys for a home herpes negative cats. Journey and Conrad are a year old as of April 2023. They have been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, their combined adoption fee is $37.10. Because they are a bonded pair, we do require they be adopted together.
