* COURTESY POST FOR INDEPENDENT TRAPPER/FOSTER/ADOPTER: Jewel is an eight month old tuxedo girl. Looking at how tiny she is, you wouldn't believe she had her first and only litter about 3 months ago! She suffered a great deal living on her own on the streets, which is why she is lucky someone came along who knew about TNR! She was trapped along with her babies and allowed to nurse them for the first couple of months. After that, her kittens were distributed among different rescues, but nobody wanted anything to do with Jewel. Why? She is such a sweetheart! They were going to just put her back out on the streets where neighbors had already threatened to dispose of her somehow. Thankfully, she was rescued from that situation and brought into a foster home where she met her best friend, El Gringo. El Gringo really helped her break out of her shell and overcome her fear of people. That is why we are adopting them together.
