My Story

Minnie gave birth to kittens on Presidents Day, ten days after she arrived from Ritchie County, WV, where the shelter burned to the ground in January. Her five kittens are nicknamed "the Moochers".

Jackie is a silky soft baby girl who loves everyone.

As young kittens, the Moochers must go home in pairs, with Minnie, or to a home with another kitten or young cat. They will be up to date on their vaccinations before they become eligible for adoption in mid-to-late April, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

You can follow the adventures of Minnie and her Moochers at the 50 Kittens website!

Gender: female

Approximate age: 10 weeks

Coat Type: medium-length

Color: black

Location: foster home, Arlington, VA

Declawed: no

The adoption fee for Jackie is $100 each, which helps defray the cost of routine vet care and vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting one or more Moochers, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to [email protected].

Can't adopt but want to help? Please contact Tina to find out about sponsorship, fostering, and other ways you can help (kitten names)! Please note that financial sponsorship will be applied to the specific cat you indicate unless it is not needed, at which time we will let you designate it for another HT animal of your choice.

You can save cats like Minnie and the Moochers by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high-kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering animals.
