Jabari is a sweet older gentleman looking to retire from his life on the streets. He's a very talkative dude, with a raspy voice that will remind you of many of the old-heads you know from the block.. He still enjoys a good came of catch with a wand toy, but if he had his way, you'd be petting him 24/7/365. He's outgoing and social, and just a great, fun, funny guy.
Jabari is FIV positive and FeLV negative. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a lentivirus that affects cats around the world. Being FIV+ does not mean that the cat is sick, only that his immunity to fighting off disease is lower. FIV is not contagious to humans or other species and, while contagious among cats, it is difficult to transmit (typically through deep bite.) Jabari is a healthy guy and does not require any special care beyond what is best for all cats - a healthy diet, staying indoors, and routine checkups. FIV positive cats can live long, healthy lives similar to other cats.
