My Story

Ivy is a special cat who has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). This is a developmental condition where a portion of the brain fails to develop properly in an unborn kitten. CH affects the cat's fine motor skills, balance and coordination. CH does not worsen over time. It is not painful or contagious. Cats with CH adapt to their abilities and limitations. They have a normal life expectancy and enjoy happy lives. Ivy cannot walk but she is able to scoot around quite well. She navigates better on carpeted surfaces than hard floors. Ivy enjoys playing with toys. She loves to bat at wand toys and the ties on your hoodie. Ivy is very sweet and affectionate. She loves to be held and snuggled. Ivy is litter box trained but she lays to use the box. With slow introductions, Ivy has learned to live with other cats and dogs in her foster home. But Ivy adores her humans and is happiest when she doesn't have to share her humans. Ivy is looking for a forever home where she will not need to go up or down stairs to access her litter box. She would do best in a calm environment with no small children. If you are looking for a cat that will never jump on your table or countertop, Ivy is your girl.
