My Story

There’s an old saying (we may have made it up) that no cat-loving home should be without a black cat. Whoever said it, well, we think so, too. Intelligent to the max (have you ever known a black cat that wasn’t smart as all get out?), glossy, handsome, beyond clever, affectionate, funny….the list goes on forever! Hermes is the perfect personification, oops, coolest catification (?) of this Truth of Truths. What a glorious boy! If your home lacks completion — without a black cat, that is —Hermes can fix that for you?? Hermes, the divine trickster, herald of the gods, moving seamlessly from one world to the next. Not bad for a kitten born to a feral mom rescued from the streets. Quite the cool cat. Hermes is brother to and Ariadne. Except he gets to be featured on Black Cat Appreciation Day and his sister doesn't. As a big black panther, full of energy and fun, Hermes worships his big foster brother, following him around all day. Not overly demonstrative, he doesn't go for being lap close. Rather, he sleeps on his foster mom's feet at night. Makes sense with his affinity to winged sandals in his Greek persona. Hermes is as complicated and lovable as his name indicates. His regal demeanor needs shredding from time to time with a playful feline buddy or two. If you are up for flying between worlds with an elegant black cat sporting wings on his feet, Hermes is your guy. Hermes is good with other cats and kids. He is looking for a place to land forever so stop in at Boofy's Best For Pets on Cutler during regular business hours to meet him! When you do bring me home, make a "safe" room for me while I get used to the smells and sounds of my new home. I'll adjust better this way! This will also give me a "safe" place to go if I get scared.
