My Story

Meet Henry and Cali, a bonded pair looking for their forever home together. Cali and Henry are at least 5 years old and have been with CARMA for several years and have been fostered in the same home. During their time together, Henry and Cali developed a strong bond, and they can be found snuggling one another. Henry seems to be more attached to Cali than she is to him, but they can continually be found together. Henry is a friendly guy who loves attention, and he loves to be brushed. He is easy going and sometimes has a lot to say. He needs a home with a double door system as he was adopted once when he first arrived with CARMA, but within a couple of weeks, he escaped from his adoptive home and spent more than 2 months during the wintertime fighting to survive. A kind person contacted us when he showed up in her yard and CARMA was able to rescue Henry once again. He returned battered, sick, and with several bite wounds. He slowly healed and seemed quite happy to be warm, safe and to continually have a full belly. In his foster home Henry has access to a secure catio with direct access from the home. He loves spending time in the catio and can be found in it sunbathing and spending time with his foster siblings. The catio provides him with a safe space. As Henry loves the catio and due to his past history of escape, Henry needs an adoptive home that has a secure catio with direct access from the home for him to enjoy. Henry gets along well with other cats. Cali came to CARMA pregnant and shy. She was unsure of humans. Her babies were all adopted several years ago, and it took a bit of time to gain Cali’s trust. Cali now comes to her foster humans for attention. She loves to have her cheeks scratched. She will rub up on your legs. It will take a bit of time to gain her trust, but once you do it will be well worth it. Cali gets along with other cats. Cali is still a bit nervous of quick movements, so they will need a home with no young children (children under 14) and a quiet home would be best. We do not know how they would do in a home with a dog or dogs as they have not been exposed to dogs while in our care. Please consider adopting these two beautiful foster siblings together into your home. They are just the sweetest and would make a perfect addition to a loving home. If you can’t adopt them, please share their story and help them find their forever home. If you are interested in adopting Henry & Cali, please contact us at [email protected]. As of April 2024 the adoption donations will be: - Adult cat (over 12 months): $125 - Kitten between 6 months – 12 months: $150 - Kitten 6 months and under: $200
